Removal and installation of the lock of a door

To have possibility of moving of a window of a door at the removed lateral safety cushion, it is necessary to disconnect quickly a negative cable (-) the storage battery. Thereof in memory of malfunctions the corresponding record is made. After completion of work it is recommended to clear memory thereby to provide normal work of a safety cushion. Address to the Section Diagnostics of malfunctions. Work it is desirable to lead HUNDRED in conditions.

REMOVAL

1 Close a window of a forward door, other windows remain open.
2 Disconnect a negative cable (-) the storage battery at the switched-off ignition. The battery is in a luggage compartment behind a cover on the right side. At BMW 316i, 318i cars the battery settles down in an impellent compartment.

As a result of shutdown of the storage battery data from memory of malfunctions of some monitors are erased. If necessary before shutdown of the battery it is necessary to consider these memories of malfunctions. Address to the Section Diagnostics of malfunctions. Work it is desirable to lead HUNDRED in conditions.

3 Isolate a negative cable (-) at the storage battery to exclude possibility of casual contact.
4 remove door facing, uncover doors in a back part, address to appropriate section.
5 Disconnect a window only from the tire of a back window regulator, address to the Section Removal and installation of an electric window regulator.
6 Displace a window completely up.
7 Disconnect the tire of a back window regulator, take out it down and put below in doors, address to the Section Removal and installation of the electric motor of a window regulator.
8 Door of the driver: Remove the lock cylinder, address to appropriate section.
9 Rasstykuytes I will corrode at the door lock.

10 Take out a cover-1-small screw-driver. Weaken the screw lying under it so that distinct click was heard.

Watch the rotation direction. On a door of the driver the screw rotates counter-clockwise, on a door of the forward passenger clockwise. After that the mechanism of the lock is in the provision of dismantle.

11 Turn out screws-2-and take out the lock of a door-3-with drafts through a door opening.

INSTALLATION

Operation of the lock of a door should be checked only at an open door. If the door is closed, and adjustment of the lock is executed incorrectly, the door cannot be opened without facing destruction.

It is not necessary to grease the lock of a door and a bracket

12 Check, whether has mobility the drive lever on the lock. If is not present, weaken the lock screw. The lock screw is located under a cover-1-on an illustration.

13 Insert the lock with drafts into a door. Thus drafts of the lock button insert through an opening in a door leaf. Do not deform draft.
14 Fix the lock new screws the moment of 9 N • m.
15 Join the socket at a lock door.
16 Door of the driver: Establish the lock cylinder, address to appropriate section.
17 Fix a window regulator behind, address to appropriate section.
18 Establish into place door facing, address to appropriate section.

During connection of the storage battery in the car there should not be people

19 Attach a negative cable (-) the storage battery at the switched-off ignition. Establish hours.

Check of operation of the lock of a door

Check of work is made only at an open door. If the door is closed and adjustment is executed incorrectly, the door cannot be opened without facing destruction

20 Block a screw-driver a doggie on the lock-3-.
21 Close a door a key.
22 Open a door a key, open a door the handle.

23 If the lock does not open, once again weaken the lock screw and tighten. The lock screw is under a cover-1-on an illustration.

24 Once again check operation of the lock of a door.
25 Establish a cover-1-in a door opening.
