Removal and generator installation The car has the generator of an alternating current. The drive of the generator is carried out from a cranked shaft through maple a belt. 2 Close a negative pole of the battery to exclude possibility of casual contact.
3 Models 316i, 318i, 320i, 323i, 328i: remove a box of the air filter on absorption, address to the Section Removal and installation of the air filter of the engine.
4 Models 320i, 323i, 328i with the conditioner: Disconnect the fan with the vyazkostny coupling from the pump of cooling liquid, address to the Section Removal and fan installation with the vyazkostny coupling.
5 Models 320d: Remove a radiator jalousie, address to the Section Removal and radiator installation.
6 Models 320d: Before removal of a maple belt weaken three bolts of fastening on a pulley of the pump of the power steering, without turning on them. After removal of a maple belt disconnect a pulley. The pump of the power steering address to the Section Removal and installation of the pump of the hydraulic booster.
7 Remove maple a belt, address to the Section Removal, installation and a tension of a maple belt.

8 Disconnect and remove the top rejecting roller. |
9 Disconnect behind the generator a ventilating hose if it is available.

10 Unscrew from a reverse side of the generator a protective cap. If there are covers of nuts of accessions, remove them. |
11 Uncover. Unscrew nuts-1-and remove a thick cable of accession In + and thin D +. At the engine 320i, 323i, 328i расстыкуйте I will corrode plugs D + from a reverse side of the generator, having pressed thus a wire clamp.
12 Unscrew a bolt of-2-accessions of a negative cable.

13 Unscrew fastening bolts (arrows on an illustration) and remove the generator. |

14 Models 316i, 318i: For simplification of installation of the generator press plugs-1-on an engine beam in situation-2-. |
|
15 Fix the generator, having wrapped bolts of fastening the moment of 45 N • m.
The instruction for 316i, 318i: 1–a carving for a rejecting roller at a hydraulic natyazhitel of a maple belt. If it is established - the carving-1-is not used. |

16 Fix the top rejecting roller.

| At the engine 320i, 323i, 328i the stopper from a provorachivaniye on the holder of a rejecting roller should enter into a groove (the shooter on an illustration) on the generator. |

17 Fix a cable from a reverse side of the generator and join it, address to the subsection "Removal". Nuts М6 are tightened by the moment of 7 N • m, nuts М8 the moment of 13 N • m.
18 Fix a cover from a reverse side of the generator.
19 Models 320d: Fix a pulley of the pump of the power steering. After installation of a maple belt fix a pulley, address to the Section Removal and installation of the pump of the hydraulic booster.
20 Establish maple a belt, address to the Section Removal, installation and a tension of a maple belt.
21 Models 320d: Establish a radiator jalousie, address to the Section Removal and installation of a fan / casing of the fan.
22 Models 320i, 323i, 328i with the conditioner: fix the fan with the vyazkostny coupling on the pump of cooling liquid, address to the Section Removal and fan installation with the vyazkostny coupling.
23 Models 316i, 318i, 320i, 323i, 328i: Establish a box of the air filter of absorption, address to the Section Removal and installation of the air filter of the engine.
24 Attach a negative cable (-) the storage battery at the switched-off ignition. Establish hours. |
