Removal, installation and tension of a maple belt

Address also to the Section Check of a condition of driving ridge belts.

By means of a wide maple belt with edges the cranked shaft transfers movement to the pump of cooling liquid and the generator. The 6-cylinder engine on a shaft of the pump of cooling liquid has a radiator fan with the vyazkostny coupling. If there is a conditioner, its rotation is transferred to the compressor from an additional belt with edges. As belts are located one after another, for removal of a back belt it is necessary to remove the belt which was before it previously.

Belts stretch automatically, their pulling up is not required. Usually belt service life not less car service life. To replace a belt it is necessary in the following cases:

- Formation of cracks.
- Emergence of noise, for example, at a proskalzyvaniye in case of oil hit.
- In the presence of type damages: cross-section cracks in edges, holes in edges, deposits of dirt and inclusions of small stones between edges, a razlokhmachivaniye or wear of lateral surfaces of rubber edges, address also to the Section Check of a condition of driving ridge belts.

 REMOVAL

If the removed belt is used further, it is necessary to mark on it the direction of rotation by chalk.

Replacement of a maple belt of a drive of the compressor of the conditioner

Operation of lifting and car installation on supports is connected with danger! Therefore before carrying out operation familiarize with Poddomkrachivaniye's Section and towage

1 Lift and establish the car on supports. Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove the bottom cover of an impellent compartment, address to the Section Removal and installation of the bottom cover of an impellent compartment.

2 Execution with a hydraulic tension element: Insert a face key into the screw on a tension roller. If there is a protective cap, previously remove it. As a result of slow rotation clockwise the hydraulic tension element-1-is compressed. Remove maple a belt.

3 Execution with a mechanical tension element: Wring out a tension element for a shestigrannik-1-in the direction of an hour hand. Remove maple a belt.

4 Put on pulleys new maple a belt. Thus a tension roller as at removal, turn completely to the right. Klinova the belt should be aflush with pulleys and should not act sideways.
5 Slowly unload a tension roller. Force of a tension is defined by a tension element. Value of force of a tension is not regulated.
6 Establish the bottom cover of an impellent compartment. Lower the car on wheels.

Replacement of a maple belt of a drive of the generator

Models 320i, 323i, 328i

Maple the belt actuates the generator, the pump of cooling liquid and the power steering pump.

7 Models with the conditioner: Remove the radiator fan with the vyazkostny coupling, address to the Section Removal and fan installation with the vyazkostny coupling.

8 Remove by means of a screw-driver a cover from a roller (the shooter on an illustration).

9 Insert a face key into the screw on a tension roller and slowly turn it in the direction of an hour hand (an arrow on an illustration). As a result of it the hydraulic tension element acts in film. Remove maple a belt.

10 Put on pulleys new maple a belt according to the provided scheme. Thus a tension roller pull as at removal. Klinova the belt should lie aflush with pulleys and should not act sideways.

At execution with an additional tension roller - 1-safety lock of turn on an axis of an additional tension roller should be fixed in a generator groove.

11 Slowly unload a tension roller. Force of a tension is defined by a tension element. Value of force of a tension is not regulated.

12 Put on a cover a tension roller.

13 Models with the conditioner: Establish the radiator fan, address to the Section Removal and fan installation with the vyazkostny coupling.

Model 320d

Maple the belt actuates the generator, the pump of cooling liquid and the power steering pump.

14 Remove a radiator jalousie, address to the Section Removal and installation of a fan / casing of the fan.

15 Insert a tetrahedron of the extension piece of a head on 1/2 inches as the lever into an opening on a tension element.

Do not apply for this purpose a screw-driver. It can lead to opening damage.

16 Slowly turn in the direction of an hour hand the head extension piece. The tension element in the compressed condition is thus compressed and insert a core, for example, a drill through an opening-1-into an opening of the holder.

17 Put on new maple a belt pulleys according to the provided scheme, thus compress a natyazhitel, as is shown in an accompanying illustration. Klinova the belt should lie aflush with pulleys and should not act sideways.

Position of the generator can differ from given on an accompanying illustration, but laying of a belt should be such, as is shown in an illustration.

18 Unload a tension roller and remove the lever. Force of a tension is defined by a tension element. Value of force of a tension is not regulated. If the core was applied, take out it for what unload a tension element.
19 Establish a radiator jalousie, address to the Section Removal and installation of a fan / casing of the fan.
