Removal and fan installation with the vyazkostny coupling

320i, 323i, 328i with the conditioner

The fan with the vyazkostny coupling is fixed on a shaft of the pump of cooling liquid. Together with the fan having the electric drive, its task includes giving of enough of air through a radiator.

It is necessary to replace the coupling of the fan, if the nave has teases and wear. Thus the fan at the motionless engine does not rotate or rotates hardly. It is necessary to replace the coupling also if the axial or radial gap is exceeded by 0.6 mm. For check it is necessary to move the fan in the longitudinal and cross-section directions. Thus oil should not follow from a nave.

REMOVAL

1 Remove directing soaked-up air for what a small screw-driver take out clips.

2 Unscrew the fan from a nave of the pump of cooling liquid a key on 32 mm.

The nut of fastening has the left carving and for an otvorachivaniye should rotate to the right (an arrow on an illustration).

At a nut otvorachivaniye the nave is necessary for holding from rotation by a maple belt. If the nut sits especially strong, it is possible to knock on a key with a hammer. HUNDRED BMWs are applied for this purpose by the special tool by means of which the pulley keeps for heads of bolts. After a nut otvorachivaniye further it can be braided by rotation of a krylchatka. Watch that the krylchatka did not fall. The fan acts in film up.

3 Disconnect a krylchatka from the vyazkostny coupling for what turn out screws (arrows on an illustration) and take out the coupling.

INSTALLATION

4 Insert the vyazkostny coupling into a krylchatka and fix it screws the moment of 10 N • m.

For an exception of damage of a carving and the coupling do not tighten screws too strongly.

5 Fix the fan with the coupling on a nave of the pump of cooling liquid the moment of 40 N • m. Thus hold a nave from a provorachivaniye for maple a belt or heads of bolts.

Do not warp a nut at installation.

6 Insert directing soaked-up air and fix clips.
