Removal and installation of the air filter of the engine

At diesel engines 320d the air filter is located directly on the engine and built in a cover of a head of cylinders.


 REMOVAL

1 Cars with the tempostaty: Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove the electric motor темпостата from the holder (an arrow on an illustration). Take the electric motor with the attached wires aside.

2 Disconnect soaking-up pipe from the forward party of the air filter.

3 Remove a screw-driver both brackets-2-at a measuring instrument of weight of air. On the tip-3-and a collar-1-it is not necessary to weaken regulators.

4 Turn out the screw-1-and take out a box of the air filter up. Instruction: In a point-2-under the air filter there is a rubber support. On an illustration the air filter without a filtering element and the top part is shown.


 INSTALLATION

5 Establish the case of the air filter on the bottom rubber support. Thus connect soaking-up pipe from the forward party of the air filter.
6 Fix the screw-1-.
7 Establish a weight measuring instrument with a sealing ring and fix brackets.

The damaged sealing ring replace.

8 Cars with the tempostaty: Fix the electric motor of the device of regulation of speed on the holder.
