Removal and installation of the pump of cooling liquid

The pump of cooling liquid is actuated by a maple belt. 320i, 323i, 328i with the conditioner: In front on a shaft of the pump of cooling liquid the fan is established.

Models 316i, 318i, 320i, 323i, 328i

 REMOVAL

1 Merge cooling liquid, address to the Section Replacement of cooling liquid.
2 Remove maple a belt, address to the Section Removal, installation and a tension of a maple belt.
3 Unscrew bolts of fastening of a pulley. Thus hold a pulley from rotation. Remove a pulley from a nave.

4 Turn out 4 bolts of fastening of the pump of cooling liquid.

5 Screw 2 M6 screws in a carving opening (arrows on an illustration) and thus evenly take out the pump of cooling liquid from the engine. Watch that the pump did not warp.



 INSTALLATION

6 Clear sealing surfaces on the engine.
7 Turn out demountable bolts from the pump.
8 Replace a sealing ring of the pump and grease a new ring before installation by means for sliding.
9 Insert the pump with new consolidation and evenly fix it. The moment of an inhaling depends on diameter of a carving. Address to Specifications.
10 Fix a pulley, having tightened 4 bolts the moment of 15 N • m.
11 Establish maple a belt, address to the Section Removal, installation and a tension of a maple belt.
12 Fill system with cooling liquid, address to the Section Replacement of cooling liquid.
13 Start and warm up the engine. Check tightness of system of cooling.


Models 320d

 REMOVAL

14 Merge cooling liquid, address to the Section Replacement of cooling liquid.
15 Remove maple a belt, address to the Section Removal, installation and a tension of a maple belt.
16 Unscrew a hose of cooling liquid from above the pump at a head of cylinders and the holder.

17 Disconnect the pump-1-and remove together with sealing laying-2-. Thus pay attention to position of both directing plugs-3-.
